Art Journal

A while ago I started an art journal. It's been hiding away for a long time and I recently dug it out, along with all my art supplies. I've been obsessed with it lately and it's taken over my kitchen table.

The pages consist of layers of acrylic paint, collage with magazine paper, tissue paper, greeting cards, stickers. I also use alchohol ink, paint pens, markers and watercolor crayons. Basically, anything I have on hand. If I don't like something I gesso over it and slap on something else. Some of the pages have 3 or 4 layers. I don't really start out with an idea - it just progresses. Some of the pages I did a long time ago I've been adding more stuff to. I love that it's never really finished.

The above page was inspired by the amount of time I've had to spend in the house lately. I'm dreaming of an early Spring.

Wow! I had no idea that you did collage. Would not have expected this type of collage/work from you. Very nice!

Lovin this! A while back I was looking for a greeting card for a friend's son. I had zero luck finding what I was looking for. I told a group of friends about this problem one night while we were having a few drinks. We proceeded to get smashed and make up a bunch of greeting cards we found funny. I had been writing down the cards we made up and the next morning I read them. Much to my surprise the cards were still funny even when sober.

Ah, that's the art journal. Bootiful! I'm going to force myself NOT to start one. No, really, I am. I can stop myself . . .
